Next Level Training Partners With Team PEI

Next Level Training is proud to announce it’s partnership with Team PEI for Hockey! Team PEI consists of the best young hockey talent on the Island who represent their province during Canada Games in February 2011.

This project reminds me of my experience with the 2003-04 London Knights hockey club. The Knights were out of shape and needed to improve their strength in order to compete against the top clubs in the OHL. A complete overhaul of London’s existing program was in order as there was an abundance of talent but scrawny young hockey players. So out came all the tools needed to make these changes- motivation, nutrition, strength training, tracking and monitoring and by-in from the coaching staff on my system.

That year, we made it to the OHL finals and went down 3 games to none Guelph. With grit and determination we crawled back to force a game 7 that we eventually lost after leading 3-2 late in the third.

The next year everyone we applied the same strength & conditioning strategy that played a role in breaking all time league records including most wins and points in CHL history. What an experience!

My family decided to move to PEI where my wife and her parents are from. Shortly after arriving, I had the pleasure of being introduced to Team PEI’s Head Coach Kenny MacDougall and had wonderful conversation that revealed how aligned we were in terms of player development philosophy – HARD WORK and COMMITMENT! Coach MacDougall is an advanced level 1 certified coach with tons of experience and has a tremendous work ethic. Ken is all about helping young hockey players be the best they can be.

This is where it all starts for Team PEI 2011. Coach MacDougall wants to see commitment and hard work. Every player will be given equal opportunity too prove themselves on and off the ice. Game on!
