Matt McGrath, the 29 year old MMA fighter from the Rikidokan Judo Club, Charlottetown PEI, wins Canadian Elite 1, Mixed Martial Arts middleweight championship by defeating Eon Shirley of Toronto’s Extreme Couture Club by TKO at 3:23 of the first round.

McGrath was 7-2 coming in tot he fight and he’s considered a rising star with a chance for a UFC career. Shirley is a veteran fighter with an extensive background in muay thai, kickboxing and judo.

Matt’s fight was the main event held in Moncton, New Brunswick on Nov 28, 2009. McGrath now holds the interim Canadian middleweight belt and will defend it against Shawn Marchant of Cambridge Ontario Jan 23, 2011.

As Matt’s strength and conditioning coach, Spero Mantzavrakos, looks forward to helping him prepare for his next championship fight.

hello im new commer to canada and im in toronto ill move to pei in a week i want to ask is there any mma classes ?????

We don’t offer MMA classes but you can try Rikidokan Martial Arts Club in Charlotettown
